Travel Info
Flying In
Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) – about 30–45 minutes from Mainz/Wiesbaden and ~50 minutes from the venue.
Train from Frankfurt Airport to Wiesbaden/Mainz:
Once you land at Frankfurt Airport, follow signs to the Regionalbahnhof (regional train station). From there, you can catch a direct S-Bahn or regional train (RB/RE) to Mainz or Wiesbaden — it takes about 30–40 minutes and costs around €5–10. Trains run frequently throughout the day, and tickets can be purchased at a kiosk or on the DB Navigator app.
Where to Stay
You do NOT need to stay near the wedding venue your whole trip. We actually recommend basing yourself in Mainz, Wiesbaden, or Mainz-Kastel (where we live) and spending just one night near our venue (if you’d like).
Hotels & Airbnbs
Mainz: Hyatt Regency, Hilton, AC Hotel, or charming Airbnbs in Altstadt.
Wiesbaden: Dorint Pallas, Radisson Blu Schwarzer Bock, Holiday Inn Express, Premier Inn, or Airbnb.
Mainz-Kastel: Quieter, more residential — best for Airbnbs.
For the Wedding Night (Optional)
If you'd like to stay near the venue for one night (May 16):
Hotel at the Venue:
Burg Schwarzenstein – We reserved a limited amount of rooms at the venue.
Nearby in Geisenheim or Rüdesheim:
Hotel Krone Assmannshausen, Hotel Trapp in Rüdesheim, Weinberg-Schlößchen, the list goes on. There’s a ton of other hotel and Airbnb options nearby.
Or: take a train, bus, or taxi to Wiesbaden/Mainz the same evening — it's doable!

Should You Drive?
If you’re planning to:
Take road trips before or after the wedding
Visit small towns or wine villages
Stay somewhere outside the city center
…then yes, a rental can be a great idea!
If you’re mostly sticking to Mainz, Wiesbaden, and the wedding — Germany’s train and bus system is fantastic, so you can skip the car and ride stress-free.
